The Benefits of Joy vs Worry.

“According to Vedanta, one of the symptoms of enlightenment, is that you stop worrying. Things don’t bother you anymore. You become light-hearted and full of joy.”

Because your body cannot tell the difference between real and imagined thoughts, your body treats the worrisome thoughts as if they are real. For example, Just think of how you can get scared at a movie or in a dream. Your heart starts racing and your hands get sweaty. It’s not real, but your body is reacting on a chemical level as if it is.It’s a classic fight or flight response which can lead to

  • Increases the risk of heart attack and strokes and lead to
  • Headaches
  • Back pain
  • Digestive symptoms like constipation or diarrhea
  • Skin issues like psoriasis or breakouts

And it can become addicting. Every worrisome thought is not only changing you biologically but creates chemical imbalances and a neural pathways that becomes normal for you.

The Addiction to Worry

Have you ever noticed when you get one problem solved you find something else to worry about? Or you tend to ruminate over the same kinds of common themes whether it be money or relationships. no matter how successful you are in any other area of your life?

That’s because it has nothing to do with external circumstances. The target will always be moving to another reason to worry.

It’s an inside job.

This life and everything in it is an illusion it’s like a dream that our ego perpetuates and makes more complicated by trying to control every detail. We are continually chasing one carrot on a stick after another in hopes that if we can get everything under control we will be full of joy.

So What Do You Do?

You can’t control worry and stress by changing your outside world because it’s an illusion created by the ego mind and there will always be things that can potentially cause us stress.

To have better health and live a more joyful life…

Let go of the idea of control of this life – of identity, ambition, and security.

Don’t try to figure out every situation and make things change. Let Go and Let God.

Take your worries to the alter of God and ask for his help in healing through forgiveness of yourself and others. I recommend reading “Disappearance of the Universe” by Gary Renard for an idea of what true forgiveness means.

Look for synchronistic events to happen. This is where the events line up and the miraculous happens!
