You’re a marketer, it’s only natural that you want the best for your business, and that applies to the platform you’re using.

But most of the time, you won’t know which platform works best until you experience the benefits firsthand.

Unfortunately, getting to that point can take a lot of trial and error. What’s more, you usually have to wait for months before you even begin to see the results of your efforts.

But it’s inevitable to wonder until you see those results: what if I’ve been using the wrong platform all this time?

No one wants to find out they’ve been wasting their time on something that won’t help them. It’s normal for you to want to know the answer to the question as soon as possible — why use LinkedIn for business?

I’m going to tell you the answer to that here by showing you the top 5 reasons why use LinkedIn for business!

Why Use LinkedIn for Business

LinkedIn is a popular platform with over 500 million members and 260 million monthly active users.

And with more than two new members per second, LinkedIn will continue to grow. LinkedIn is also a top-rated social network for lead generation, connections, and revenue impact.

So why use LinkedIn for business? The facts above should already answer this question.

You have to do your marketing right to even begin to profit from those facts, of course. You need to know Essential LinkedIn Marketing Tips, for example.

But before you even get to your LinkedIn strategy, you need to learn first what you can achieve on the platform. That brings us back to the question: why use LinkedIn for business?

LinkedIn Improves Brand Visibility and Reputation

Why use LinkedIn for business? For one thing, because establishing an online presence can be difficult. LinkedIn can make it easier.

On LinkedIn, companies have the chance to connect with other businesses and entrepreneurs. You can establish connections to both potential suppliers and customers on the network.

This is helped by myriad features on the network that let you find the right connections with minimal effort. They’re another thing I point to when people ask, Why use LinkedIn for business?

For example, you can do an advanced search that lets you filter by location, company title, industries, and connections. That means you can better target your marketing efforts.

This helps you ensure you’re making your brand more visible for the right audience. You’ll be certain that you’re not wasting time trying to connect with those uninterested in what you have to offer.

Don’t forget to use as many filters as you can. It’s essential that you don’t make mistakes with Linked marketing.

It Allows You to Promote Business

This is one of my favorite answers when people ask, “Why use LinkedIn for business?” You see, the extent to which you can promote on LinkedIn is a little different from that on other platforms.

Most LinkedIn users are professionals. Most of them are on the network to promote either themselves (in a professional capacity) or their businesses.

That’s why promotion is natural on LinkedIn, unlike in Facebook and Twitter. On those other platforms, you have to limit it because they’re still mostly about socialization.

Overly-aggressive promotion on those networks can even be bad for your reputation.

You can be more aggressive on LinkedIn, though. Why use LinkedIn for business? Because the platform even encourages it!

To promote on LinkedIn, list your business’s products and services on the site. You can link these to your website or even YouTube videos (for further promotion).

You can also encourage customers to place reviews for your products and services on the network. Positive reviews can be very good material for promotion.

You can do all that through a company page. So make sure you check out my guide to Creating a LinkedIn Company Page.

LinkedIn Is Great for Link Building and Traffic Driving

Another great answer to why use LinkedIn for business is this one: to do link building and drive traffic to your website.

Link building and traffic driving are strategies used in search engine optimization (SEO). These strategies are essential if you want to get into the first page of a search result.

You can get both do-follow and no-follow links on LinkedIn. Do-follow links help your ranking in search results directly; no -follow ones don’t. But both are useful.

A do-follow link to your site on your LinkedIn company page can boost your SEO, for example.

At the same time, a no-follow link on a post you’ve published on LinkedIn can still lead people reading the post to your website. That’s traffic you can’t pass up!

So the many link building angles on LinkedIn are all worth exploring to the savvy marketer. Sometimes it even makes me wonder why people still ask that question (Why use LinkedIn for business?)… There’s so much to get out of it!

LinkedIn Can Educate and Attract Clients

Just like other social media platforms out there, LinkedIn allows you to create posts that are relevant to your niche.

You can post content that’s useful to clients. You can educate them about your products and services. You can even educate them about your industry.

Remember that LinkedIn users are mostly professionals. Posting USEFUL content is more important here than you think.

LinkedIn users tend to favor content that gives them a professional or industry benefit. This means you can really show off your expertise.

That lets people see you can offer genuine value. A good thing for your brand’s reputation and credibility!

Remember to respond to questions or reactions to your content, by the way. Doing so can lead you to yet another answer to the question why use LinkedIn for business.

LinkedIn Lets You Sell and Generate Leads

This may be the most convincing reply to “Why use LinkedIn for business” to most people. A chance at more sales!

You can engage other LinkedIn users and turn them into paying customers. There are a lot of people willing to be paying customers here!

LinkedIn is 277 percent more effective at generating leads than Facebook and Twitter. So there are definitely leads to be found on the network.

You just need to know how to find them. Try looking at potential and existing customers LinkedIn walls or LinkedIn groups. They usually post problems there — and you might have the solution.

You can also answer people’s reactions to your posts, as mentioned earlier. You’d be surprised how many people can turn into customers just from a positive interaction with a business.

These are just 2 ways to seek leads on the platform. To learn more about how to do that with smart marketing, look at my guide on how to use LinkedIn for marketing.
