Are you looking to see how you can use Twitter to help grow your business?

Maybe you tried it before, and just weren’t getting the results you wanted.

I was in your place not long ago. Actually, to be honest, a couple years ago “I didn’t get Twitter”… at all!! I thought it was dumb and didn’t understand why I should use it.

Then a year ago I suddenly saw the light. I took some courses and learned how to use Twitter effectively for my business. Now Twitter is one of my favorite platforms for growing my business.

Let me help you grow your business using twitter. Take a look at my 7 small business Twitter tips.

Let’s Get Started!

Starting a business is a little challenging… there are a lot of things to consider. For instance, how will you make your business well-known? One way to get the word out about your company is through social media like Twitter. Twitter is a great platform that you can use for you to introduce your business to the world, and announce what you have to offer.

Ok, now for the good stuff.

 1. Your Brand

Showcasing your brand by making your profile picture be the logo or pictures some of your products is my first small business twitter tip. Remember the more visible your products are the more customers will want to learn more about your offerings.

2. Find your Customers

Have you tried Twitter Search? Do you know how powerful it can be?

Twitter Search is great for finding new customers. Tons of tweets every week are all available to be searched using twitter.com/search-advanced.

You will be able to find your customers by simply typing the keyword related to your products, and also about the things related to the products or customer needs. Once you found them start by greeting them through tweets.

3. Build Connections

Twitter users vary across the spectrum: from the famous to those not so much, from rich to poor, etc. But an important differentiator is the size of ones following on Twitter. Therefore another small business Twitter tip is to look for the users who have a big following, and those who have the most numbers of retweets. Try to communicate and introduce your products and engage with them regularly.

4. Hashtags

Hashtags are king on Twitter. They are the way to a larger community. So another small business Twitter tip is to make use of hashtags. Take a look at the trending hashtags every time to find out what topic is getting the most buzz.

Learn to interact and communicate with people who are actively tweeting by using these trending hashtags. Remember, the more people you know the better your business will do.

5. Advertise

For the most part, people use Twitter because it’s free. They are only communicating with the friends and family, or to follow the tweets of news, celebrities, etc. But you’re running a business. Therefore another small business Twitter tip is to pay to advertise your tweets so they can be shown to a wider audience.

Twitter ads have a lot of things to offer such as to promote your Twitter account or to promote your product related tweets. This will all you to extend your tweet reach so more learn about your company and your offerings.

6. Join Local Community

Another small business twitter tip is to join a local Twitter community. Other similar businesses or organizations may be willing to promote your business. Communities can be a good way for you to expand and build a good relationship with your co business owners.

7. Conversations turn to Sales

The last and the most difficult small business Twitter tip is… to use DM’s (direct messages) to start a conversation and convert it into a sale.

Be polite. I know it may *seem* like the most obvious thing to do, but it may not be that easy when you are trying to close the deal. Even though they don’t see you, you still have to be polite and seem like you care. Nobody wants to sign up with a rude or uncaring business.

After building some rapport, offer to show them your products or services. Ask them for the review of your products… this often helps you make them a customer.

Make sure to provide the best of the best. People who receive the best experiences will help spread the word on your behalf.
