“The Top SEO Optimization Software Programs to Use in 2019” written by Mike Marko.

Luckily for marketers and business owners, there are a lot of great examples of SEO optimization software at the moment.

In fact, that’s probably what’s brought you here. The sheer wealth of choices may have you confused as to which one you should try out.

Now if you’re a total beginner to search engine optimization or SEO, you may want to try free tools first. After all, they represent less of an investment and are often a little simpler.

While I’ve listed at least one of those here, you can find more of them in my post on the 9 free web SEO tools you need for 2019.

Now what if you think you’re ready for SEO optimization software with a little more oomph? Well then, this post is for you.

Today, I’ll show you 11 of the top SEO optimization software you should be using in 2019. These tools can help you take the SEO you’re doing for your business to the next level.

The SEO Optimization Software You Need

Most of the SEO optimization software in this list has more than one use. However, a tool doesn’t necessarily have to be multifunctional to be among the best SEO tools.

You’ll see that in a few of the SEO optimization software I’ve listed here.

What matters is that the tool does a job that lets you supercharge your SEO from beginner-level to advanced. And of course, the tool has to do that job well.

So if you’re ready to go up one more rung on the SEO strategies/skills ladder, here are the SEO tools you should use.

1) SpyFu

SpyFu is one of the most impressive examples of SEO optimization software I’ve seen. That’s why it just had to be in this list of SEO optimization software.

First off, it has a great interface. In fact, it should be as easy to manage for a beginner as for a seasoned marketer.

Second, users aren’t charged based on the number of searches they run on it. That’s a pretty interesting contrast to most of the other SEO optimization software with similar functions.

So what functions does it have? Here are just a few of them:

  • Keyword research and tracking.
  • PPC research.
  • Backlink tracking.
  • List building.
  • SEO research.

It also comes with a browser/toolbar extension and SEO reporting.

On the whole, what makes this one of the best examples of SEO optimization software in 2019 is the way it makes SEO easier to integrate with a business’s overall marketing and sales plan.

It may well prove indispensable to those who decide to try it.

2) Moz Pro

Moz Pro is next in our list of the best SEO optimization software for 2019.

It’s actually fairly similar to the previous example of SEO optimization software I gave in this article. Instead of just one tool, it’s a full suite of them.

Like SpyFu, it offers many of the functions a seasoned marketer would want in SEO optimization software.

That includes industry-standard reporting, web crawling, SEO research, and more.

It’s also fairly affordable given how comprehensive it is, starting at around $79 a month on the annual plan.

That said, it’s one of the more powerful toolkits available and one glance at it tells you it’s not for messing around. That may make it a little intimidating to less experienced users.

If you’re the type who’s seriously thinking of investing in SEO training, though, this is a must-have.

3) Ahrefs

Experienced marketers won’t be surprised to see Ahrefs in this list.

This is among the best (and most accessible) SEO optimization software examples you will find.

Use Ahrefs if you’re looking to conduct any of the following:

  • SEO auditing.
  • Competitor research.
  • Keyword research and tracking.
  • Domain comparison.

Backlink research is particularly good on Ahrefs, which is known for having one of the biggest backlink databases.

4) AnswerthePublic

Who says the best SEO optimization software always has to come at a cost?

AnswerthePublic is easily one of the best SEO tools you can use right now for your content strategy. It’s also free!

So how do you use it to take your SEO to the next level? Easy!

Using it, you can pull up a huge list of SEO content ideas for your website or blog in just a few clicks. Hit the “Data” button and you get those ideas in an easy-to-read list.

Then, just hand that list to your content producers/writers. Or make the content yourself using the data.

The best part about AnswerthePublic may be that it includes questions related to the keyword in its results.

That means you can anticipate your target audience’s queries and produce content for them ahead of time.

It’s one of the easiest ways to come up with SEO-ready content.

5) Inspectlet

I’m actually amazed that not everyone in SEO is using this yet.

Inspectlet is a fantastic example of SEO optimization software that gives you serious visitor insight.

Inspectlet essentially lets you see what visitors do when they come to your website.

It offers session recording (so you can literally see visitors’ cursors when they’re on your site), dynamic heatmap generation, A/B testing, form analytics, error logging, and more.

There’s a free plan, but that limits you to one website and 1,000 recorded sessions per month. The next plans, Micro and Startup, cost $39 and $79 a month respectively and offer more recorded sessions and websites.

So what can you do with what Inspectlet tells you?

A lot! Among other things, you can figure out how to improve your site to keep visitors on it longer — which is good for SEO.

6) LINKCheetah

Trying to up your backlink game? LINKCheetah may be the answer.

This particular example of SEO optimization software was designed to make managing a backlink profile easier than ever.

It offers the following features:

  • Link overview.
  • Google Index check (to make sure your backlinks are indexed by Google).
  • Backlink monitoring.
  • Bad link removal.
  • Backlink analytics.
  • Link and anchor text distribution.
  • Automated link import.

7) Siteliner

This is another of the SEO optimization software examples that show how simplicity can work.

Siteliner explores your website in order to detect issues like duplicate content and broken links.

It does that very simply and very swiftly — and best of all, it checks for duplicate content only on pages that don’t have no-index tags.

It’s a great way to check your site for thin content that offers your visitors nothing of value.

8) Serpstat

There’s a lot I like about Serpstat because it has a lot to offer. This is another of the SEO optimization software products that offer more than one feature.

For example, with Serpstat, you can do all of the following:

  • Keyword research.
  • Search analytics.
  • Advertising analysis.
  • Site audit.
  • Content marketing ideation.
  • Competitor research.
  • Rank tracking.
  • Market intelligence research.

Probably the feature I like best, though, is its ability to show you “Missing Keywords”. These are keywords your competitors are ranking for that you aren’t using yourself.

9) SEMrush

SEMrush is another great “comprehensive” example of SEO optimization software. Like similar tools I’ve already mentioned in this list, it offers everything from keyword research to Google Search Console integration.

There are some features to SEMrush that I really like, such as its “SEO Ideas” feature.

This lets you run an analysis on certain keywords and pages that’s followed by the tool giving you suggestions for SEO.

The suggestions range from content ideas to strategic ones (e.g. it even identifies pages that you can expand with those keywords).

10) AWR Cloud

AWR Cloud does a number of things, but as far as I’m concerned, its real strength is rank tracking.

Its position monitoring interface is amazingly user-friendly too, so even those new to website and search engine tracking won’t take long to figure it out.

Note that the tool’s name actually means “Advanced Web Ranking Cloud”, by the way. It definitely merits that name!

11) Majestic

Majestic is a superb pick for SEO optimization software if you’re focusing on backlink tracking and competitor analysis.

You can add competitors’ websites as well as your own to its analysis list and get valuable insights on how you perform against them.

Using the data you discover from this SEO optimization software, you can try to get ahead of your main competitors.

Final Thoughts on Top SEO Optimization Software

That wraps it up for my list of the top SEO optimization software for business owners trying to progress in SEO this year.

A good SEO tool can do a lot to help you advance in this field. That’s why I’ve compiled a list of some of the best ones you can get.

Here they are again, in no particular order:

  1. SpyFu.
  2. Moz Pro.
  3. Ahrefs.
  4. AnswerthePublic.
  5. Inspectlet.
  6. LINKCheetah.
  7. Siteliner.
  8. Serpstat.
  9. SEMrush.
