Create Your Page

Start by creating your own Facebook business page. Your Facebook page serves as your business’ Facebook profile and should primarily reflect your brand.

Business Logo and Cover Photo

Images are an important part of your page. A primary photo is necessary as it appears first upon searching for your page and for this, you can use your business logo.

Additionally, you should set up a cover photo for the page. This should be attractive enough to capture the interest of the users and informative enough to let the users know what your business is all about.

It’d be easier to convince Facebook users to check out your entire business page once these photos are set up on your page.  

I treat a Facebook page as I would a website, therefore it needs to answer the following questions within 2-3 seconds of the visitor landing on the page:

  1. Who are you
  2. What’s the benefit for the visitor to do business with you
  3. What primary action you want visitors to do (contact you, phone call, etc).

Profile Description

A few creative sentences that describe your brand would help customers to easily remember your page. At the same time, it is a good opportunity to inform the customers what products and services you can offer them.

The profile description should also have a few keywords to help searchers find your page.

Share Your Page

By sharing your page on your timeline, groups, or personal messages to friends and acquaintances, you can increase awareness about your brand. To extend your reach even further, politely ask if they are willing to share it amongst their own circle.

You can share your page by clicking the Share button below the page’s cover photo. By clicking the drop-down menu, you can select where you want the Facebook business page to be shared.

In addition, publishing a short and visual post will most likely drive a higher number of comments, shares, and likes from your Facebook followers.

Start Making Connections

On the Admin menu page, there’s a tool that can help build an online following called “Build Audience”. Using this allows you to connect more with your audience and set more connections with your customers.

Facebook also gives you the option to invite both your Facebook friends and email contacts to like your page. This option helps you to spread the word to people closest to you.

Aside from this, put your Facebook on your website, business cards, email signatures, along with other materials, that can be easily passed along.
