2) Video Ads

You can feed your audience’s spirit with engaging views, sounds, and motion in video advertisements. Here, you can share up to 60 seconds of video in a landscape format.

When I was discovering how to advertise my Instagram page, I used video ads to be more visually attention-grabbing. Here you can get more engagement and reach when compared to simple image ads.

Keep in mind that video ads can be made up of a single GIF or image too. You can also create an ad thumbnail from images from the video or upload a custom one.

To make your video ad more interesting and engaging, you can add subtitles. There is an option for uploading an SRT file for video subtitles on Instagram.

A caption with about 125 characters can be added too. I found this essential when learning how to advertise my Instagram page, because it told viewers what to expect from my video content.

In particular, carousel ads are great for getting notable audience engagement for your ads. It becomes all the more noticeable compared to the engagement you get from static ads.

4) Slideshow Ads

Slideshow ads are simply a loop of images with music. When I was learning how to advertise my Instagram page, I discovered I could add as many as 10 images to these.

Slideshow ads can look very similar to a carousel ad, only they scroll on their own. These ads are made up of a series of still images that play as a video, much like a slideshow.

To get started, you can upload a slideshow from your library. You can also add text and audio to enrich the ad — I certainly did that when I was studying how to advertise my Instagram page.

Another option is creating a slideshow in Facebook Ads manager. You simply have to upload, arrange, adjust settings, and add music.

Remember that you can also add a thumbnail, caption, and website URL.

5) Instagram Stories Ads

The Instagram Stories ad is the most recently released Instagram ad type. Despite that, it’s become popular very quickly.

The Instagram Stories ad is similar to Snapchat posts in that it allows users and brands to share photos and videos. It appears in people’s Stories feeds.

This type of ad supports single image and video ad formats. When I was trying it out, I found it to be one of the most effective ways to advertise my Instagram page due to its versatility.

Now you know that Instagram can provide you with different ad formats. Next, I’ll give you the tips I myself followed when I was learning how to advertise my Instagram page.

One of the first things I found when studying how to advertise my Instagram page was that you need to follow certain tenets. For example, quality over quantity definitely applies here.

I’ll take up that principle as well as other ones worth considering in my tips below. These are the same things I myself observed when I first discovered how to advertise my Instagram page.
