Those would be YouTube and Facebook, which is why I’ve published so many pieces on YouTube marketing and Facebook marketing myself.

Still, Twitter’s shown steady growth in the number of daily active users. That means Twitter’s still growing as a social media network and marketing channel.

It’s also an extremely effective platform for certain purposes. For example, 71% of its users read news on it, which means it’s among the best channels for breaking news or updates.

It’s also considered the top platform for government leaders. This may make it especially relevant if your business is at all political.

Moreover, recall for content viewed on Twitter is pretty impressive. It’s 31% better compared to the recall for content seen in general online browsing.

1) Find Your Audience’s Peak Hours

It’s an ideal time to tweet during busiest hours since that’s when users are active on Twitter.  You have to learn to identify those peak hours.

Doing so will boost engagements, get a huge number of clicks, and get more impressions.

2) Use Images

It’s important to add images to tweets so that you’ll gain more clicks and shares. However, never add irrelevant images that don’t do anything for your tweet.

Use images that fit with your tweet’s content. You may also create banner images that support whatever post/content your tweet may be promoting.

3) Use Video

Use Twitter video for more engagement.  Always remember that videos get more attention than just images and plain text, so you should be using them often.

That said, keep in mind that Twitter limits video size and length. The maximum video file size on the platform is 512 MB, while the maximum length is 2 minutes and 20 seconds.

If you have a YouTube account, you can also just upload the video to your YouTube, then embed it in a tweet on Twitter.

4) Retweet

Retweeting is just plain good sense if you’re on the platform.

As I said earlier, one of the answers to how can Twitter help your business is the way it lets you interact with consumers. Retweeting is one of the most important Twitter interactions.

When you retweet others’ content, they’re likelier to retweet yours. That can lead to mutual promotion, greater reach, and so on.

5) Optimize Your Profile

A lot of people will check out your profile page before deciding to follow you on Twitter. Since you want them to have the best impression of your brand, you need to optimize your profile.

That means making sure it looks professional and actually represents your business. Ensure that your avatar image as well as bio look official, of course.

Give some thought to the tweet you pin at the top of your feed too. This tweet can tell others a lot at a glance, so ensure it portrays your business in the best (and legitimate) light.

6) Follow Other People

It’s pretty obvious that one of the best ways to see the answers to how can Twitter help your business is to get more followers. But did you know that to get those, you have to follow others too?

Follow people on Twitter that you think can help your business. Look for influencers in your niche, possible business partners, and the like.
