  • Provide a unique description for all pages, post, products of your website to catch your visitor’s interests.


  • Keep the size between 140-150 characters. Keep it short and concise.  (I know Google presently allows longer meta descriptions… but you need to keep the mobile visitor in mind).


  • Avoid repeating the title in the description. Make the most out of the 150-character limit you have.
  • Don’t add too many keywords. Use keywords that are relevant and important. Avoid bombarding the search engine with a lot of keywords.  I typically aim for one or two keyword phrases.

Make Use of Permanent Link Structures

The permanent link structure is a term used in describing the format of URLs for pages or an individual post on a website. Permalink is shown in the browser address bar and in the search results.

  • Make URLs simple and easy to understand.
  • Use hyphens ‘ – ’.
  • Avoid lengthy URLs.
  • Use descriptive words.

Use Internal Links Appropriately

Internal links are links in a page that point to other pages within the website. Google uses these links to determine the relevance of your page’s content and its value.

Internal links are different from external links. As the algorithm changes frequently, it is important to evaluate and improve your internal linking strategy on a regular basis.

A properly configured 404 page must give information and navigation to other pages. Additionally, it must have a consistent design with the rest of the website.

Optimize Your Images

Optimize the size of your images to make it easier for your website to load. The smaller the size of the images on the page, the faster the website loads.

You can also make use Alt Text to describe the image, or you can also add relevant keywords. Avoid using file names like image1.jpg or, and use unique names with dashes instead.
