Creating an account on LinkedIn is one of the best decisions you’ll make for your company.

LinkedIn is a social networking platform that’s made specifically for business minded people and professionals. You can find employees, clients, and customers on this platform.

But just like in other social media platforms, you need to start off with the right foot. That means you first need to know the basics of using this platform.

In this blog post, I’ll talk to you about how to create new company on LinkedIn. I’ll also give some tips to make your page stand out and successful.

Having a company page on LinkedIn isn’t enough if you want to be successful in marketing your business on this platform. You also need to put some effort to make your page different from the others, so that you stand out from the “noise” on social media.

However, before I start talking more about how to be successful, let me start this by giving you tips on how to create new company page on LinkedIn.

1. Create a New Company on LinkedIn

First, you need to create your account. Click sign up and give the necessary information. Make sure to provide a valid email address to verify your LinkedIn account.

After creating your account, go to Interests at the top of your LinkedIn homepage and select Companies from the drop-down menu. Click the Create button in the Create a Company Page on the right corner of the screen.

From there, enter your company’s official name and your work email address. However, make sure that your account meets the requirements for making a company page.

Here are some of the requirements in order to create a company page.

  • Your personal LinkedIn profile must contain your true first and last name.
  • Your account must be at least seven days old.
  • Your profile strength must be at least intermediate or all-star.

If your account meets the requirements, proceed to make your company page. Provide the necessary information and click continue. After that, type an overview and detailed description of your company.

The description of your company must be between 250 and 2000 characters, including spaces and a company website URL.

Once you’re done providing the details for your business, the next thing you need to do is to upload business related images.

2. Upload Business Related Images

Your company page must contain images since it’ll represent your brand. Upload images that are related to your business.

Also, consider uploading your business’ logo to make your page recognizable.

The logo of your company page won’t only appear on your page. It’ll also appear on your staff’s profiles and this can help in brand awareness.

To ensure that your logo is recognizable, resize it to the standard logo dimensions of 100 x 60 pixels before uploading it.

Aside from your business’ logo, create an interesting background image.  Use the background image to help visitors know what your company has to offer or what makes you unique.

When choosing a background image, you need to make sure that it’s 646 x 220 pixels to fit the banner requirements for company pages.

Here are some ideas to help you in choosing a banner image.

  • Feature a key campaign line or brand message.
  • A picture showing your workplace.
  • A picture of a happy customer using your product.

After uploading the images, your company page can already get the attention of your target audience.

  1. The first thing you need to do is to write a persuasive summary of your business. It should get the interest of your audience. Today, people use the internet to get the information they need.
  2. Make sure to use keywords in your company page and its content. Using keywords is the best and easiest way to increase your page’s visibility on the internet because it helps you get found by search. Since you’re competing with possibly hundreds of business similar to yours, you need to climb up to the top of the search engine results.
  3. Add career information and opportunities. This shows your audience that your company can help and give opportunities to people without jobs.
  4. Ask for product and service reviews or testimonials. People like to read feedbacks because it makes it easier to determine if they can trust your company or not.
  5. Make updates that are targeted to your preferred audience while promoting new and important content. Doing this ensures that you’re getting responses from people who are interested in your business. This is the easiest way to get more sales.

However, startup businesses and business without a large following will have a hard time promoting their products or services. If your business happens to be either of the two, you should put an effort into getting more followers.

4. Get More Page Followers

After you create new company on LinkedIn, the next thing to do is add your employees. Your employees can help in increasing your page’s visibility. They can help you spread a word or two about your newly created company on LinkedIn.

Also, encouraging your employees to add your company to their personal profile helps you immediately gain credibility.

Any content you post will appear on your company page as well as in the newsfeed for anyone following your company.

People like informative content.

That’s why constantly posting content that provide value to followers will drastically impact your engagement rates. And this’ll also have a positive impact on your company.

Also, you should try using a sponsored content if you have important announcements such as promotions. Sponsored content generates greater brand awareness and quality leads.

Lastly, don’t forget to use company page analytics to know more about your customer behavior. Doing this will help you determine what aspect of your marketing plan is working.
